Gypsum casting is a casting method using gypsum molds. It allows for a beautiful surface finish and dimensional accuracy comparable to die-cast products. It has good transferability and can reproduce uneven characters (such as part number displays and company logos with a φ0.3 tool). It is ideal for producing prototypes, single items, and small lots with a variety of low-volume products. Since no molds are required, it can be provided with short lead times and low costs. It is particularly suitable for complex shapes, thin-walled, and hollow shapes that are difficult to manufacture through machining. The finished cast products are dimensionally measured using a three-dimensional measuring machine to ensure quality assurance. Zero draft angles and undercuts can also be accommodated, which are features of gypsum casting.
