Gypsum casting is a casting method using gypsum molds. It allows for beautiful casting surfaces and dimensional accuracy comparable to die-cast products. It has good transferability and can reproduce embossed characters (such as part numbers and company logos) with a φ0.3 tool. It is ideal for producing prototypes, single items, and small lots with a variety of low-volume products. Since molds are not required, it can be provided with short lead times and low costs. It is particularly suitable for complex shapes, thin-walled, and hollow shapes that are difficult to manufacture with machining. The finished cast products are dimensionally measured using a three-dimensional measuring machine to ensure quality assurance. Zero draft angles and undercuts can also be accommodated, which are features of gypsum casting.

Due to the method of creating molds with gypsum for casting, the initial cost is several hundred thousand yen.
