When using Dioxane solvent, please replace the dye within one month regardless of dye degradation. Do not leave Dioxane solvent in the dye circulator for long periods. When using Dioxane solvent, please ensure that someone who understands the chemical properties of Dioxane is present. Please prepare a fire extinguisher. basic information
■ Exalite Series Dyes Fire Hazard Information The Exalite series dyes themselves do not pose any particular issues; however, the solvent used to dissolve them, Dioxane, may pose a fire hazard. Exalite series dyes have a longer lifespan compared to conventional dyes, which means that Dioxane can change into peroxides before the dye requires replacement due to degradation, potentially leading to explosion and ignition risks. Therefore, we recommend the safety measures mentioned above. Additionally, if you are using Dioxane as a solvent with other types of dyes, we ask that you implement similar precautions. Exciton (the company name has changed to Oakley due to the merger with Oakley, Inc., a group of Luxottica, but the brand name Exciton will continue to be used) has been supplying high-quality dye laser dyes compatible with all excitation light sources for many years. We always have a wide variety of dyes in stock. Regarding absorption dyes, the ABS series in the visible range has relatively narrow absorption bands, and there are types with particularly narrow linewidths. The IRA series for the IR range selectively absorbs IR light even at high light densities.

◆Pigment Concentration – Weight Conversion 【Conversion Formula】 Molecular Weight × Concentration (molar) = Weight (mg) *1 *1 Weight of the pigment contained in 1 cc of solvent 【Example】 Using the pigment catalog from Exciton, we take the example within the red dashed line in the figure below. From this, we calculate the weight of BPBD-365 per 1 cc of toluene solvent. Molecular Weight of BPBD-365 (A) = 354.50 Concentration (B) = 4 x 10^-3 molar 354.50 × (4 x 10^-3) = 1.418 mg Therefore, the appropriate concentration is 1.418 mg of BPBD-365 per 1 cc of toluene solvent.
