Protecting factory operations from earthquakes! An example of design considerations such as the establishment of pits.
We would like to introduce a case study of a food company’s factory that supplies bento to convenience stores, for which we undertook the design. Since this design was done after the earthquake, we ensured seismic design for the structure, and as an earthquake countermeasure for the piping under the first-floor slab, we incorporated design considerations such as the installation of a pit. Additionally, to secure passage and parking space for delivery vehicles within the limited site area, we minimized the first-floor area, and for the portion exceeding that area on the third floor, we designed it to extend over 4 meters, thus meeting the required total floor area. [Overview] ■ Location: Higashinada Ward, Kobe City ■ Construction - Architecture: Toray Construction - Equipment: Shin Nippon Air Conditioning ■ Total Floor Area: 7,240 m² ■ Structure/Scale: Steel structure, 4 stories above ground *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
