Contec has started providing the download of firmware (JetPack 6.2.0 installation image file) that supports Super Mode for the industrial edge AI computer DX-U2100 series equipped with NVIDIA(R) Jetson Orin Nano(TM) from July 17, 2025. By applying the firmware that supports Super Mode, the AI performance of the model with 8GB of NVIDIA(R) Jetson Orin Nano(TM) will improve from 40 TOPS to a maximum of 67 TOPS, and the model with 4GB will improve from 20 TOPS to a maximum of 34 TOPS. 【Target Products】 ● Industrial Edge AI Computer DX-U2100 Series The newly purchased DX-U2100 series and the existing DX-U2100 series hardware you already own can utilize Super Mode by updating the firmware. We are pleased to announce that Contec's industrial edge AI computer DX-M2300/U2200/U2100/U1220 series now supports "Power Failure Protection®," which enables operation without the need for shutdown during power interruptions. By applying the JetPack/L4T version provided by Contec to the compatible products of the industrial edge AI computer, you can utilize the Power Failure Protection feature. After installing your application, you can enable the Power Failure Protection function by switching the settings in the BIOS and Linux. When the Power Failure Protection function is enabled, data writing to the SSD is redirected to an overlay area in the main memory, preventing data writing to the SSD. Furthermore, by adopting SSDs with robust protection features, we safeguard the storage from sudden power outages and prevent system crashes.

Contec has developed a fanless embedded computer equipped with the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin(TM), a System on Module (SOM) for embedded devices with server-class AI (artificial intelligence) performance, and will begin accepting orders for the DX-M2300 series starting September 13, 2024. This product is a fanless embedded computer featuring NVIDIA's AI module for embedded devices, the "Jetson AGX Orin." It boasts AI performance comparable to GPU boards for data centers, achieving approximately 8 times the performance of the previous generation Jetson AGX Xavier, with a maximum of 275 TOPS (INT 8)*. Utilizing our unique heat dissipation technology, including a large heat sink, it enables fanless operation in a compact chassis measuring 200 mm wide, 200 mm deep, and 65 mm high, allowing for two units to be housed in a 2U height EIA 19-inch rack. *TOPS (Tera Operations per Second), INT 8 (Integer 8); a unit that indicates how many trillion 8-byte integer operations can be performed in one second, serving as a measure of AI performance.

Contec's edge AI computer "DX-U2200" has been adopted for a level crossing monitoring system that utilizes AI image analysis technology from Meitetsu EI Engineer Co., Ltd. Meitetsu EI Engineer, which develops equipment installation and communication systems for nearby railway companies centered around Nagoya Railroad, has organized a project team with Toyota Systems, which has a track record in AI image analysis, and Toho Electric Industry, a railway equipment manufacturer, to operate a level crossing monitoring system that incorporates AI-based image analysis. The DX-U2200 has been adopted as the edge AI computer that meets the system requirements.
