Instantly deployable position and motion analysis tool "InQross Kaizen Maker"
Introducing a case study that improved picking operations using DI analysis in Industrial Engineering (IE).
We would like to introduce a case study utilizing the immediately deployable position and motion analysis tool "InQross Kaizen Maker" at an electrical equipment manufacturing factory. We wanted to visualize from the movements of the picking operators which parts shelves they frequently take parts from, and whether improvements could be made based on the visualization results. With InQross, we were able to collect and analyze data from the picking operators using DI analysis in Industrial Engineering, leading to increased efficiency. 【Case Overview】 ■Analysis - From the heatmap, it was observed that Operator A frequently took parts from the third and fourth rows (further back) of the parts shelf. - From the heatmap, it was observed that Operator B frequently took parts from the first and second rows (the very back) of the parts shelf. ■Improvements - The arrangement of the parts shelves was optimized. ■Results - We were able to reduce the number of steps (distance traveled) for picking operators A and B by 10%. *For more details, please download the catalog.
