Non-PFAS coating that does not use synthetic resin
In line with the recent trends in PFAS regulations, our company has begun handling "Non-PFAS coatings" that do not use fluoropolymer resins. These coatings are currently being applied overseas to baking molds and pan trays, serving as PFAS alternatives that do not utilize fluoropolymer resins. Compared to traditional fluoropolymer resins, this ceramic-based coating operates at a lower processing temperature, resulting in less thermal damage to the substrate during treatment and promising a longer lifespan. Additionally, while the hardness is reduced compared to standard ceramic coatings, the film's conformability is comparable to that of fluoropolymer coatings.

Applications/Examples of results
Regarding PFAS Regulation Currently, in Europe, there is a movement to eliminate the production and use of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) due to their negative impact on the environment and ecosystems. If regulations are established under European chemical management laws such as the "REACH Regulation," the production, use, and import of PFAS could be restricted, with the possibility of PFAS being regulated in the EU as early as 2025. Accordingly, many companies in Japan are also moving away from the use of fluoropolymer resins. Currently, Tool Tech Tohoku is proposing alternatives to fluoropolymer resins, such as "Non-PFAS Coatings," ceramic coatings, and PEEK coatings.

Simply having a low price or a short delivery time does not differentiate us from other companies, so we work with your representatives to achieve total cost performance through meetings and proposals. There are various types of surface treatment (surface modification). If you consult with us, we can suggest the best type of film if you let us know about any issues or your current situation. Please feel free to reach out if you have any concerns regarding mold lifespan or process defects.
