A piezo assist motor is a motor that can output large displacements (long strokes) with high resolution and high thrust. It is designed for scientific research and industrial applications, making it suitable for various uses. To operate it, a dedicated controller (PAMC-104) and dedicated software are required. Additionally, a dedicated cable (2m) is included.

The operating principle of the piezo assist motor involves a piezo inertial rotation mechanism within the housing, which rotates the screw shaft and generates thrust and displacement in the direction of the screw shaft. In the principle diagram of the piezo inertial rotation mechanism shown in Figure 2, the rotor is connected to the screw shaft and the inertial moment (such as a rotating knob), and pressure (not shown) is applied to ensure the required static friction force between the rotor and the contact elements. When the piezoelectric element expands as shown in Figure 2, the contact elements A and B move relative to each other as depicted. If the force generated by the acceleration of the rotational motion of the inertial moment due to the relative motion of the contact elements A and B is below the static friction force between the rotor and the contact elements, the rotor will initiate rotational motion; if it exceeds the static friction force, slipping will occur between the rotor and the contact elements.
