★Excerpt from the Document★ 【Analysis of Lithium Ion Concentration Distribution during Rapid Charging】 One of the conditions for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is rapid charging. However, when charging/discharging at high speeds, the resistance encountered by lithium ions as they move between the electrode and the electrolyte, as well as the resistance within the electrode itself, can significantly reduce the battery capacity that can be output. To improve this, we analyze the lithium ion concentration distribution when changing the high-rate charging and electrode density, which will aid in material development. 【Exploration of Optimal Electrode Structures Using Surrogates】 By combining the surrogate-based optimization methods of the design space exploration software pSeven, which calculates material properties and mechanical characteristics using GeoDict, we can significantly reduce the number of calculations. This approach derives optimal solutions from a combination of multiple objective functions aimed at maximizing electrical conductivity, diffusion rates, and the contact area between the electrolyte and active materials (LCO and NCA).
