Introduction of a case where the deterioration of bridge concrete was chiseled and treated in Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture.
We would like to introduce a case study of our "Water Jet Method." In Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, we performed chipping and treatment of deteriorated areas of bridge concrete using the water jet method. By ejecting water as a high-speed water jet from a small-diameter nozzle, we carried out surface chipping, roughening, coating removal, and cleaning of the concrete. 【Features】 ■ Construction Location: Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture ■ Implementation Period: January 2019 ■ Type of Work: Chipping and treatment of deteriorated areas of bridge concrete ■ Method: Water Jet Method *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

In our country, during the period of rapid economic growth, approximately 10 billion cubic meters of concrete structures were built, many of which have experienced deterioration over time, leading to repair work being carried out in various locations. However, Japan has a strong concept of "scrap and build," and the technology related to repair and reinforcement is somewhat lagging compared to overseas. Therefore, Oba Construction Co., Ltd.'s Environmental Civil Engineering Division has started as a specialized department for the repair of concrete structures, aiming for high-quality repairs by actively introducing new technologies and overseas techniques. As a new technology for crack repair, we have adopted the "pressure-controlled injection method." By applying appropriate pressure with a pump while permeating the repair material, it ensures that the material reaches deep into the cracks. It can accommodate widths of up to 0.02 mm. Additionally, we own a German-made ultra-high-pressure water jet machine, which achieves high-quality surface treatment, chipping, coating removal, and cleaning compared to existing methods.
