As a process after plating treatment, baking treatment (heat treatment) may be applied. In electric plating, as stated in JIS, the presence or absence of baking treatment and its conditions are to be agreed upon between both parties. It is necessary to determine whether it is needed, considering the usage of the product and its intended lifespan, as well as which conditions are suitable; it is not necessarily required to be performed. As mentioned above, in electric plating such as hard chrome plating, baking treatment aimed at removing hydrogen embrittlement is common.
