The hard chrome plating treatment on aluminum materials (aluminum) is different from the usual process. It involves zinc replacement and nickel plating treatment, followed by the formation of a hard chrome plating film on top. Aluminum reacts with oxygen in the air, and its surface is covered with a film of aluminum oxide (Al2O3). This oxide film is a chemically stable substance, and to apply hard chrome plating, it is necessary to remove this oxide film. However, in the case of hard chrome plating, even if the surface covered by this oxide film is mechanically scraped off, as soon as it is immersed in the plating solution, an oxidation reaction occurs due to the plating solution, and a film of aluminum oxide is formed again, making plating treatment impossible with conventional methods. *For detailed information on the column, please refer to the related link.
