Aurora Flight Sciences is planning to double both its factory building area and employee count over the next five years. The company entered West Virginia in 1990, acquired a building from Northrop Grumman in 2000, and became part of the Boeing group after being acquired in 2017. The main reason for the expansion is the receipt of orders for the production of two successor aircraft to the WhiteKnight Two (commonly known as VMS Eve), which is a jet aircraft for transporting suborbital spaceplanes from Virgin Galactic.
