We would like to introduce a case study on packaging materials for roll products weighing 400 kg. We were packaging roll products with a uniform product width using reinforced cardboard outer boxes and wooden bearings. However, a new variety with a slightly larger product width emerged, leading to a problem where it could not be accommodated with the conventional packaging materials. In response, we focused on changing the specifications of the bearings while using the existing reinforced cardboard outer boxes. We replaced the wooden bearings with bonded reinforced cardboard, achieving a slimmer bearing design, successfully reducing costs and standardizing materials.
