We respond to various needs, including those in the automotive sector and its surrounding fields, and we accept commissioned testing and research.
We will evaluate new materials such as electrode catalysts and electrolyte membranes for solid polymer fuel cells by integrating them into membrane/electrode assemblies (MEAs). We will assess performance in high current density regions using various electrode sizes and flow channel cells. ● Performance Evaluation Tests - I-V characteristics (overvoltage separation), ECSA measurement, etc. ● Durability Evaluation Tests - Potential cycling tests (start-stop tests, load response tests) - Durability evaluation of the electrolyte membrane (OCV tests, humidity cycling tests) - Impact assessment due to impurities, etc. Please feel free to contact us regarding testing equipment or commissioned testing.

We are a testing and research institution that broadly accepts examinations and research from everyone. Our institute was established in April 1969 as the Automotive High-Speed Testing Ground Foundation, restructured to conduct comprehensive research related to automobiles. As a public interest testing and research institution, we have engaged in neutral and public activities, progressing alongside the development of Japan's automotive industry and advancements in automotive technology. In 2012, we became the Japan Automobile Research Institute, a foundation that broadly accepts examinations and research from everyone, while maintaining our public interest activities and contributing to the further advancement of the automotive society in the 21st century.
