This is an introduction to a case study of stainless steel enclosure covers manufactured by Mitsuya Co., Ltd. through sheet metal processing.
This case involves a stainless steel housing cover designed to protect various outdoor devices and meters. We receive the approximate dimensions and requested functions from the customer via email, and then create production drawings at Mitsuya Co., Ltd. After obtaining approval from the customer and end users, we proceed with manufacturing. The drawings are based on control panels used in machine tools and industrial machinery. Although three drawings (main body, right door, left door) are included, only one drawing can be displayed on this site due to design constraints, so we have uploaded the drawing of the main housing cover. Since it will be used in an environment without snow accumulation, we have not included parts such as square pipes or angles for reinforcement inside, which also helps reduce costs. After manufacturing the product, we assemble the main body and the left and right doors, inspect for any misalignments or shifts, and then package and ship it.

This product features a body made from stainless steel sheet metal, with purchased hanging pipes and hinges fixed in place by welding. Since it is intended for outdoor use, we confirmed whether full welding was necessary as a measure against water intrusion from rain, and it was determined that some degree of rain intrusion is acceptable, so full welding was not performed. As aesthetics are also important, we conducted welding distortion correction and removed welding burn marks to achieve a beautiful finish on the stainless steel; however, we kept the interior unrefined to reduce costs. Initially, we considered using stainless steel hairline or mirror-finish materials for the outdoor stainless steel housing cover, but due to increased costs and the glare from mirror-finish materials reflecting sunlight, as well as potential harm to wildlife from collisions, we opted for a product made from stainless steel 2B material.
