Scalar Cable Solution that dynamically supports corrugated tubes.
To reliably support and guide the corrugated tube that guides the cables, igus has developed the e-rib. This product supports both ends of the corrugated tube, as well as curved sections and rotational movements. The cable solution for SCARA robots consists of three elements tailored and adjusted for each SCARA robot: a swivel bearing (moving end), a swivel bearing (fixed end), and a corrugated tube with an e-rib. The e-rib stabilizes and defines the movement of the corrugated tube to move in only one direction. With the side guide parts, the corrugated tube can run in free span. By retrofitting the e-rib, existing equipment can be "upgraded" with minimal effort.
