The newly designed IOW centrifugal oil separator can significantly impact engine lifespan, oil change intervals, and many other long-term benefits within organizations by efficiently removing more harmful contaminants from lubricating oil than any other pressure-driven centrifugal separator in the world. The patented centrifugal oil separator from the IOW Group comes standard with a sludge monitoring system (separator control unit) and features a unique bowl disk technology that was previously installed in conventional large centrifugal separators. The existing engine-mounted centrifugal oil separator has been replaced with the new IOW MP600 centrifugal oil separator for auxiliary engine No. 1. At the same time, an existing older technology centrifugal oil separator was retained for auxiliary engine No. 4 as a point of comparison. At a pressure of 4.6 bar, the MP600 recorded a speed of 4062 rpm on a remote monitoring device over a runtime of 200 hours. What is particularly important in this comparison is that the oil conditions for both auxiliary engines No. 1 and No. 4 are the same. It has been able to separate 3.4 g more sludge per hour.
