Sound Insulation Measurement of Party Walls/Partition Walls Using a high-volume speaker and a sound level meter, we measure the sound pressure level difference (D grade) between two rooms in buildings such as apartment complexes. (Compliant with JIS A 1417:2000) A higher D grade means it is harder to hear conversations or television sounds from the neighboring room. 2. Floor Impact Sound Measurement Using a tapping machine or impact ball, we measure the floor impact sound insulation performance (LL grade/LH grade) of buildings such as apartment complexes. (Compliant with JIS A 1418 and JIS A 1419) A lower LL/LH grade means it is harder to hear sounds from the upper floor. 3.
