Utilizing green laser UAV surveying to achieve advanced disaster recovery activities.
The green laser scanner owned by our company has the characteristic of being less absorbed by water by emitting green laser light, unlike the commonly used near-infrared lasers. By mounting this scanner on a UAV and conducting laser measurements, we can obtain seamless and high-precision data down to the riverbed in areas where it was difficult to measure wet surfaces or where measurements could not be taken, such as places where land and water surfaces mix, like rivers and ports. This case is part of our participation in the environmental restoration activities, including the conservation of saline wetlands in the disaster-affected areas of the Great East Japan Earthquake, conducted by the NPO Mori wa Umi no Koibito. Due to ground subsidence caused by the earthquake, a rare saline wetland has emerged in Japan, where river and sea waters mix. As time passes since the earthquake, while the ecosystem within the wetland becomes richer, it is expected that the ground will rise due to elastic changes, leading to a decrease in wetland area due to the growth of reeds. Our company has created a high-precision 3D topographic map of the area surrounding the wetland by conducting benchmark surveying and green laser surveying. By continuing measurements, we monitor changes in the surrounding terrain and build a GIS on a 3D model of the rich ecosystem, thereby cooperating in both environmental conservation and disaster recovery efforts.

Since our establishment in 1963, we have been involved in the development of urban lifeline networks, which are essential for a rich social life, focusing on urban gas pipelines, as well as water supply and drainage, telecommunications, and roads, from the perspective of design and surveying. In recent years, in addition to design and surveying services related to lifelines, we have expanded our fields of operation to include general civil engineering design, system development, and public research departments, providing solution services that meet the diverse needs of a wide range of customers. Furthermore, as a new initiative, we are also expanding our business into environmental assessment. Please feel free to contact us if you have any requests.
