Linear Motion System | Rack and Pinion Linear Motion System
Rack and pinion direct drive system
Transform flat teeth into helical ones. Achieve space-saving, high-speed, and high-load capacity with helical racks.
Our rack and pinion direct drive system combines "high precision, high speed, high load capacity, high durability, and long length." It can transport weights in the ton class with high speed and high precision. Since the rack is directly installed on the machine bed, there is no need to worry about the "deflection" that occurs with ball screws. With a planetary gear reducer that has a minimum backlash of 1 arcmin and a rack with a cumulative pitch error of no more than 30 μm per 1000 mm, extremely high precision positioning is achievable. The rack can be up to 2 meters long, but it can also be extended by aligning multiple racks together for longer lengths.

Detailed information
-
We will compare the differences with the commonly used straight tooth rack and pinion system. The pinion pitch circle diameter has been significantly reduced to about 1/3, which has greatly decreased the required output torque of the reducer. Additionally, under these operating conditions, a module 2 is also worth considering.
-
The blue part represents the stover, and the gray part indicates the size of the rack and gearbox of the comparison system. Not only has the size of the rack been reduced, but the required output torque of the gearbox has also been significantly decreased, resulting in a substantial reduction in the size of the gearbox.
-
The lightweight design of the rack and reducer improves workability. Reducing linear backlash enhances positioning accuracy. Lowering inertia increases the flexibility in selecting servo motors. These effects lead to benefits such as improved performance of your machines and equipment, increased design flexibility, and reduced total costs.
-
Due to the significant reduction in the pinion pitch circle diameter to approximately 1/4, the required output torque of the reducer has been greatly reduced.
