[Mitarepo] A new support to maintain surface quality!? Tried the smart support feature for SLA! | System Create
"Mitarepo" is a series based on the concept of "I tried doing this!" where we introduce what can be done using various products. From the wide range of product categories handled by System Create, we deliver useful information each time. In Vol. 97, we examined the "Smart Support" feature for photopolymerization included in the data editing/generation software for 3D printers, "Voxeldance Additive." Smart Support is a function that adds support only to the underside of the model, avoiding other surfaces during generation. By preventing support from appearing on the model, it helps maintain the surface quality of the upper part of the model while reducing the effort required for post-processing like sanding. Hearing this, you might wonder, "Will the shape collapse even if support is generated only in certain areas?" or "What kind of shape will it take?" This time, we generated two types of support using the same model and conducted the printing to check their characteristics and usefulness.
