Air, water, surface disinfection, etc. Results of the inactivation test for the novel coronavirus In an in vitro study (test tube experiment) commissioned to Professor Daisuke Hayasaka and Associate Professor Chū Shimoda from the Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Yamaguchi University, it was confirmed that irradiating the Delta variant of the novel coronavirus on a petri dish for 5 seconds from a distance of 5 cm inactivated it by >99.99%. Additionally, under other conditions, it was confirmed that irradiating from a distance of 10 cm for 10 seconds resulted in >99.94% inactivation, and from a distance of 20 cm for 10 seconds resulted in >99.44% inactivation of the same virus.
