The products handled by cutting tool manufacturers often have many similarities, so each product is marked with an imprint for management purposes. However, due to the presence of some products with irregular shapes, there were instances of imprint printing errors. This time, we proposed software to detect discrepancies in characters and smudging in the imprints of cylindrical products, allowing for the distinction between good and defective items. 【Inspection Settings and Results】 By using the "Color Comparison Inspection" feature of EasyInspector, specifically the "Comparison with Master Image" function, we set up one inspection frame for each inspection item to detect the same imprint. Since the objects with imprints are cylindrical, it was necessary to detect areas that are difficult to see on the sides. Additionally, because the products were coated with anti-rust oil, we fixed their position and orientation and used dome lighting to ensure that light reached the sides, allowing for accurate judgment.
