We would like to introduce a case where our two-color molding technology and plating technology for two-color molded products have made it possible to prevent noise. A rubbing sound was generated from the area where the plated parts and ABS resin molded parts were combined due to vibrations from the automobile. As a countermeasure, masking agents were applied and felt was attached, but this resulted in a significant amount of labor. By proposing a two-color molding using resins that can and cannot be plated, ensuring that the contact points with the counterpart are made of resin, the rubbing sound caused by vibrations was eliminated, contributing to the creation of a comfortable environment inside the vehicle. 【Case Overview】 ■ Issues - Due to the surface condition between the chrome on the outermost layer of the plating and the resin, when vibrations were applied to the parts, they did not slide against each other, resulting in a rubbing sound. ■ Proposal - Two-color molding with a plating-compatible resin for the decorative part and a non-plating resin for the assembly part. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
