Ministry of Fisheries Policies: Balancing Sustainable Use of Fisheries Resources and Growth of the Industry - Two Meanings of Smart Fisheries - Companion
Our company will hold a business seminar. In order for our country's fisheries to develop sustainably, it is necessary to quickly and reliably obtain the information needed for resource management, as well as to overcome various challenges faced by the fishing industry, such as predicting fishing grounds amid changes in the marine environment, selective fishing of species, rising feed costs, developing new aquaculture sites, and labor shortages. In this context, the utilization of so-called "smart technologies" such as IT, AI, drones, and robots, which have seen remarkable advancements in recent years, is considered one of the keys to solving these challenges. The Fisheries Agency supports the establishment of information collection systems and the deployment of smart technologies in production sites through initiatives such as the "Smart Fisheries Promotion Project," and will provide a detailed explanation of efforts aimed at the sustainable use of fishery resources and the industrialization of fisheries growth.
