basic information
**Lecture Overview** As the movement towards decarbonization strengthens across all industries to mitigate the impacts of climate change caused by global warming, efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from aircraft are becoming more active in the aviation sector. In 2022, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) adopted a long-term goal to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions in international aviation by 2050. Alongside sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and improvements in operational methods, the introduction of new technologies is being considered as means to reduce CO2 emissions. Hydrogen aircraft, which have the potential to achieve zero CO2 emissions from aircraft, are also being anticipated as a promising technology. This lecture will provide a detailed explanation of Kawasaki Heavy Industries' latest developments in core technology for hydrogen aircraft, aimed at social implementation of the technology. **Lecture Items** - Kawasaki Heavy Industries' efforts towards a CO2-free hydrogen chain - Movements towards decarbonization in aviation - Development of core technologies for hydrogen aircraft - Trends in standards and standardization related to hydrogen aircraft technologies - Related Q&A - Business card and information exchange session
