basic information
**Lecture Overview** As of May 1, 2024, a non-publication system for patent applications has been introduced. This system aims to prevent the disclosure of sensitive technologies and information leaks through patent procedures from a security perspective by designating these patent applications as non-public (preservation designation). For patent applications that receive preservation designation, the publication of applications and patent examinations will be suspended, and various obligations will be imposed on the patent applicants, such as prohibiting the implementation of the invention, prohibiting the disclosure of the invention's content, and preventing information leaks, among other practical challenges. Therefore, in response to the non-publication system for patent applications, it is necessary to restructure patent strategies, including a review of the patent management system. In this lecture, we will explain the overview of the non-publication system for patent applications from this perspective, organize the practical challenges, and elaborate on new perspectives in patent management systems as a patent strategy that responds to the non-publication system for patent applications. **Lecture Items** ■ Overview of the non-publication system for patent applications ■ Guidelines for appropriate management measures under the non-publication system for patent applications ■ Practical challenges under the non-publication system for patent applications ■ New perspectives on patent strategies considering the non-publication system for patent applications ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange session
