basic information
**Lecture Overview** During my time as a bureaucrat, I was involved in the formulation of the "Nuclear Power Nation Plan" at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, where I was responsible for the taxation and accounting of radioactive waste treatment and disposal, as well as competition policy and pricing systems. This is a policy area I am very passionate about. Regarding the "7th Energy Plan," I have participated in discussions, including executive meetings, as an officer of the Liberal Democratic Party's Comprehensive Energy Strategy Research Committee. Above all, stable electricity supply is crucial, and it is necessary to have domestic energy sources. Another important aspect is not to hinder competitiveness. Innovations such as methanation and fusion energy (nuclear fusion power) are also significant. In this lecture, I will discuss points that can be evaluated in the plan and challenges for future energy policy from these perspectives. **Lecture Items** ■ Who is Politician Hideki Suzuki? – Focusing on initiatives at the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy ■ Evaluation of the "7th Basic Energy Plan" ■ Future Challenges – Strengthening Energy Security ■ Related Q&A ■ Business Card and Information Exchange Meeting
