basic information
【Lecture Overview】 SAF stands for "Sustainable Aviation Fuel," which uses renewable biomass, waste cooking oil, urban waste, and other materials as raw materials, and is expected to achieve a CO₂ reduction effect of about 60-80% over the entire lifecycle from raw material supply to use. As of 2022, the global supply of SAF remains at about 0.1% of jet fuel supply, and in Japan, there are uncertainties regarding securing raw materials and mass production plans against the SAF target of "10% of the airline refueling volume required by 2030." Therefore, it is urgent to establish stable production of competitive domestic SAF through public-private collaboration. Our company is committed to commercializing SAF made from "off-spec coconuts" to contribute to solving aviation fuel challenges both domestically and internationally, and this seminar will provide a detailed explanation of this initiative. 【Lecture Topics】 ■ Background focusing on off-spec coconuts ■ Approaches to innovative raw material exploration ■ Overview of the SAF business ■ Social and economic impact of this business ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange session
