The power of personal connections (personal network)
Social Infrastructure (Saitama University Research Seed Collection 2025-27 p.33)
Keywords: Personal Network, Finance, Banking, Business
We individuals live connected to a diverse range of people. Friends from high school, seniors from the soccer club, juniors from my previous workplace, and my current boss... people are interconnected through various elements, and this "personal network" can be analyzed and visualized using data such as place of origin, educational background, work history, professional experience, and hobbies. Recently, with the availability of such data, research analyzing the economic effects of these connections has been conducted globally. It has been found that connections can influence factors such as escaping personal poverty, corporate misconduct, innovation, and the performance of financial transactions. For many years, I have analyzed the functions and behaviors of banks in the economy and researched how banks can be improved. In this process, I encountered personal networks and have expanded my research to analyze their roles and impacts not only in banking but also in general businesses.
