basic information
**Lecture Overview** In our country, it is expected that the number of core agricultural workers will rapidly decrease from 1.2 million to 300,000 over the next 20 years, and the sharp decline in workforce is the biggest challenge. We recognize that one of the tools to address this issue is smart agriculture, which utilizes advanced technologies such as robotics, AI, and IoT. Smart agriculture not only helps to alleviate dangers and heavy labor, and improve the yield and quality of agricultural products, but it also contributes to reducing environmental impact, thus supporting the realization of the Green Food System Strategy. We will provide a detailed explanation of smart agriculture, which is expected to help establish a highly productive food supply system that can maintain production levels even with a declining number of farmers, along with an overview of the Smart Agriculture Technology Utilization Promotion Act enacted in 2024 and the Smart Agriculture Innovation Promotion Council scheduled to be established in 2025, as well as the initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and future prospects. **Lecture Items** ■ Challenges in agriculture and policy directions ■ Evolution related to the promotion of smart agriculture ■ Promotion of the utilization of smart agriculture technologies ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange meeting
