"CarMaker" has obtained the automotive functional safety standard ISO 26262.
Users save costs and time by obtaining authentication for the tool itself! Efforts can be reduced.
IPG Automotive (Karlsruhe, Germany) announced on August 14, 2024, that it has obtained ISO 26262 certification for automotive functional safety from a third-party certification body for its simulation solution "CarMaker" to further enhance the reliability of simulations. With this certification, the high quality of CarMaker has been confirmed, promoting its use in safety-related projects by users. The demands for vehicle development are increasing due to shorter development cycles and rising costs, leading to a greater need for tools that meet these demands. *For more detailed information, please refer to the attached PDF. Various tools are being developed to realize model-based development. In automotive development, verification and testing using prototype vehicles are significantly constrained by time and cost, and although the importance of verification is increasing with the complexity of vehicle systems, it is difficult to rely solely on verification environments at the vehicle level. IPG Automotive provides a simulation environment for one vehicle, called the "Virtual Test Driving" platform, which can be utilized by all engineers involved in vehicle development from the early stages of the development process. Our company was established in 1984 as a spin-off from Karlsruhe University (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). The mission established at the time of founding, to balance vehicle simulation and real-time computation, continues to this day, emphasizing the coupling of driver models and environment models, and is designed based on maneuver testing rooted in driver operation. Our platform is equipped with sensor models that are essential for recent ADAS/AD development, enabling virtual closed-loop verification that includes the vehicle, environment (roads and traffic flow), and driver.
