basic information
【Lecture Overview】 Seaweeds, which have been used for food and fertilizers, are gaining attention in recent years as materials that support decarbonization. Promising applications include feed additives that reduce methane in the burps of cattle, bio-stimulants which are a type of agricultural material, and alternative proteins. In response to the anticipated market expansion for climate change measures, new movements are emerging to change the supply chain for the production, distribution, and processing of seaweeds. Furthermore, carbon absorbed by marine ecosystems such as seagrass beds is referred to as blue carbon, which is being credited and traded. This is expected to drive corporate entry into seaweed farming in the future. This lecture will provide a detailed explanation of the movements aimed at capturing business opportunities in these areas. 【Lecture Topics】 ■Decarbonization through Seaweeds ■Promising Uses of Seaweeds ■Changes in the Supply Chain ■Future Outlook ■Related Q&A ■Business Card and Information Exchange Session
