Effective in reducing complaints due to a shortage of part-time workers and selection errors.
Much of the size sorting work for large leaves is done visually by home workers. While manual size sorting has high sorting capability, mistakes occur due to the workers' inability to maintain concentration for long periods, resulting in products being shipped with non-standard sizes, leading to complaints. Therefore, our company has developed and delivered a "large leaf sorting robot" that can be operated by any worker and can dispense a specified number of leaves sorted by size in the same orientation.

basic information
This system allows for the manual arrangement of perilla leaves on a conveyor, where a camera performs image processing on the leaves, sorting them into three sizes: L, M, and S. A robot then stacks the specified number of leaves for each size at high speed. Of course, there is no damage to the product (perilla leaves). The production capacity is 100 leaves per minute. What would require three workers for manual processing can be done by one operator with this system (labor productivity is 2.5 times higher). The initial motivation for implementation, which was to address the shortage of part-time workers and reduce complaints about sorting errors, has been achieved, contributing to increased productivity.
