◆Overview By adopting a heat pump for the regeneration heat source, we achieve dehumidification in low-temperature environments (-5 to 5°C) with less energy compared to existing systems. This expands the possibility of using desiccant dehumidifiers even in refrigeration facilities without thermal sources or waste heat. Furthermore, we use the natural refrigerant CO₂, which has a low global warming potential and is safe, contributing to "global warming prevention." ◆Reasons for Selection Energy-efficient Dehumidification Traditionally, electric heaters or steam were used as regeneration heat sources for desiccants, and the dry air after adsorption would increase in temperature, necessitating chillers. This resulted in very high energy consumption, placing a significant cost burden on customers. The "chris" employs a heat pump system that can perform both cooling and heating with a single unit, greatly reducing power consumption (input energy). Prevention of Condensation It eliminates fog, wet floors, and puddles in various scenarios such as C-class refrigerators, loading docks, vehicle bays, meat centers (cutting rooms, etc.), and ice skating rinks. It can supply air with a dew point temperature below 0°C, which is unattainable with cooling dehumidification methods, thereby suppressing the occurrence of mold and rust in low-temperature environments.
