Reduce soaring transmission cable costs by calculating appropriate sizing according to the laying environment.
Eaton's "CYMCAP" software is designed to perform calculations for the current capacity and temperature rise of power cables. Following the analytical methods described in Neher-McGrath and IEC287/853, it corresponds to the ratings of steady-state and transient thermal cables. This software was jointly developed by Hydro One (a transmission and distribution service provider in Ontario), McMaster University, and Eaton, with the cooperation of the Canadian Electricity Association. Validation of the results obtained from this software enhances the reliability of upgrading existing power cables and designing new power cables, significantly increasing the benefits from related substantial capital investments. 【Features】 ■ Improved system reliability through accurate cable modeling calculations ■ Supports various installation conditions such as direct burial, thermal backfill, and underground duct banks for power cables ■ A rich lineup of modules for reliable cable thermal current capacity calculations *For more details, please download the PDF file.
