basic information
**Lecture Overview** Japan's naphtha crackers are in decline, but there is a succession of renovations and expansions of ethylene plants using inexpensive ethane crackers derived from natural gas overseas. Inexpensive methane from shale gas can be reformed to obtain low-cost syngas. From syngas, fuels and chemical feedstocks can be produced. It is possible to shift to a new business model that does not rely on naphtha crackers. **Lecture Topics** ■ Natural Gas ■ Utilization of Ethane ■ Dehydrogenation of Propane ■ Utilization of Ethylene ■ Utilization of Syngas ■ Related Q&A ■ Business Card and Information Exchange Session
