basic information
【Lecture Overview】 This lecture will explain the latest trends in carbon pricing policies, which are one of the methods to promote emission reductions by companies (such as emissions trading systems and environmental taxes), as well as the future direction of the J-Credit system. In February 2025, a cabinet decision was made on a revised proposal for the GX Promotion Act, and the emissions trading system (GX-ETS) was established as law. This fiscal year, detailed design of the system will progress in preparation for the start of the emissions trading system in fiscal year 2026. J-Credits are expected to serve as environmental value products in response to carbon pricing policies. The lecture will cover the outline of the J-Credit application requirements, recent market trends (supply and demand, Tokyo Stock Exchange market, government sales), and will also address the market trends of competing products such as non-fossil certificates. By comparing J-Credits and non-fossil certificates, which are expected to expand their use as steps toward carbon neutrality, we will predict the direction of these markets and consider the impact of the emissions trading system starting in fiscal year 2026 on J-Credits. 【Lecture Items】 ■ Carbon Pricing Policies ■ Latest Trends in the J-Credit System and Future Outlook for J-Credits and Non-Fossil Certificates ■ Related Q&A ■ Business Card and Information Exchange Session
