CFRP carbon fiber separation and recovery technology
CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), which is used in vehicles and airplanes, is mostly disposed of in landfills due to the lack of established recycling technology. Our university's Environmental Thermal Engineering Laboratory has applied electromagnetic heating technology to recover high-quality carbon fibers from CFRP in just a few dozen seconds. Since the carbon fibers in CFRP are expensive, the establishment and implementation of this technology can contribute to reducing production costs and delaying the day when landfills become full.
