basic information
**Lecture Overview** The draft of the 7th Basic Energy Plan, published in December 2024, clearly states the intention to maximize the use of both renewable energy and nuclear power. To maximize the use of renewable energy, efforts on the demand side are expected, particularly through the utilization of decentralized power systems and batteries. However, from the perspective of economic security, there are different considerations. In this lecture, we will unravel the history leading up to the 7th Basic Energy Plan and detail the concept of DR (Demand Response) readiness utilizing decentralized energy resources and businesses. We will also explain the policy implications of the Basic Energy Plan on capacity, supply-demand adjustments, and simultaneous markets. This will be presented by an instructor who has served as a committee member in the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and the Electricity System Council, and who was involved in drafting the "Basic Energy Policy Law," which can be considered the "constitution of the energy industry," providing a broad perspective. **Lecture Topics** - Basic Energy Policy Law and Basic Energy Plan - Policy direction of decentralized power systems (DER/DSR) and DR readiness - Latest trends in capacity markets, supply-demand adjustment markets, and simultaneous markets - The electricity business in 2050 - Related Q&A - Business card and information exchange session
