Introducing examples of coatings for steel and metal rolling shafts!
We introduce a case where we solved a customer's problem of rapid wear at the mounting part of the rolling rolls, which led to frequent repairs, by using ceramic thermal spraying for coating!
The production lines for steel and metals are dynamic and harsh environments. Critical components such as rolling parts, wire drawing machine parts, peripheral equipment, and utility equipment are constantly worn out, leading to frequent repairs that cause difficulties. Here, we introduce a case where ceramic thermal spraying solved these issues. ■Challenge The mounting parts of the rolling rolls were wearing out quickly, leading to frequent repairs. ■Proposal We proposed replacing the plating process with ceramic thermal spraying to extend the life of the rolling rolls. ■Effect With the plating process, repairs were needed approximately every six months to a year, but by switching to ceramic thermal spraying, the lifespan was extended by over two years, significantly reducing repair costs and resulting in great satisfaction.

NCI introduced the core technology of the ceramic thermal spraying, the Low-Cry process, in Japan for the first time, and for half a century, it has supported rocket development. NCI has consistently pursued the Low-Cry process, leading and evolving ceramic thermal spraying. Thanks to the know-how of the Low-Cry process, it is possible to provide outstanding functions and quality, such as plasma, hybrid, high-speed flame, and surface patterns. NCI's thermal spraying technology is widely utilized in advanced technology fields, offering high-quality solutions unique to NCI.
