basic information
【Lecture Overview】 The emission trading system (GX-ETS) initiated by companies participating in the GX League in the fiscal year 2023 is set to fully operate in its second phase starting in fiscal year 2026. This phase will mandate participation from large-scale emitters and include provisions for free allocation of emission allowances corresponding to emission reduction targets, obligations for the retirement of allowances equivalent to actual emissions, and reductions in emissions through mechanisms such as J-Credits. The role of the carbon credit market is expected to become increasingly important from the perspective of achieving efficient targets. This seminar will provide a detailed explanation of the Tokyo Stock Exchange's carbon credit market, which began operations in October 2023, in light of these recent policy trends, covering past initiatives and future prospects. 【Lecture Topics】 ■ What is emission trading? ■ GX League (Phase One) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange Carbon Credit Market ■ About the Tokyo Stock Exchange Carbon Credit Market ■ Future Prospects: GX-ETS (Phase Two) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange Carbon Credit Market ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange session
