The ultrasonic waves emitted from the probe are incident on the measured object, and the thickness is calculated by measuring the time (propagation time) it takes for the waves to reflect off the opposite surface and return. It is possible to easily measure the finishing thickness of metal products, corrosion inspection of pipes and steel plates, and thickness in areas that are difficult to measure with calipers or micrometers.
