basic information
【Lecture Overview】 Tsuruga City has developed not only as a crucial transportation hub for land and sea routes but also as an energy supply city with a nuclear power plant. On the other hand, as long-term shutdowns and decommissioning of nuclear power plants progress, the city is facing regional challenges such as population decline and a shrinking economy. In response, the city is developing new industries and energy policies, and in November 2022, it was selected as a leading decarbonization region, working towards regional revitalization triggered by decarbonization. This seminar will provide a detailed explanation of initiatives aimed at decarbonization and sustainable regional development as a nuclear power plant location. 【Lecture Items】 ■ Challenges and Policies of Tsuruga City ■ Leading Decarbonization Region ■ Towards a Positive Cycle of Decarbonization and Regional Revitalization ■ Related Q&A ■ Business Card and Information Exchange Meeting
