Overview and Implementation of Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS)
20250803
With software distribution! ~Demonstration of smart inverter effects using a free emulator~
★In this seminar, we will focus on the management and control systems for Distributed Energy Resources (DERMS) that are essential for the expansion of renewable energy, particularly the utilization of the flexibility offered by DERs. Dr. Ninagawa, who is actively engaged at the forefront of this field, will provide a clear explanation of recent trends in centralized DER management, DER control worldwide, developments related to distribution systems and reactive power control, as well as system design. The seminar will also include demonstrations that visualize the effects of DERMS through emulators. *This seminar can be attended in person at the venue, via live streaming (Zoom), or through an archive (to be distributed later). ★The application form can be found at the bottom of the related links. Applications/Examples of results
**Recommended Audience** Scope: All engineers involved in the interconnection technology of distribution systems and equipment for energy transfer. Industries: Distributed energy resource equipment manufacturers, power system equipment manufacturers, electric utility companies, island/regional system companies, power service IT companies. Hierarchy: Planning and management positions, equipment development designers, system control designers, system engineers, IT communication engineers. **Purpose of this Seminar** The future transition to renewable energy as a primary power source will lead to the decentralization of power generation (DER) in distribution systems, potentially causing voltage deviation issues depending on the location and time. This seminar will introduce the comprehensive management control system for smart inverters, known as DERMS, as a countermeasure. Additionally, the instructor will demonstrate the DERMS emulator (virtual model simulator) developed over many years to visualize and explain its effectiveness. This seminar is intended for all engineers involved in smart inverter control related to solar power, wind power, EV rapid charging, and energy storage systems. Participants will receive a free distribution of the trial version of the DERMS emulator's source code, manual, and a complete set of materials (approximately 150MB). **Program** Part I: Trends and System Design Related to DERMS Part II: Demo and Visualization of the DERMS Emulator, Live Demonstration
Company information
Since our establishment in 1982, with the support of innovative researchers, engineers, and consultants who resonate with our mission of providing "technical and management information to the industrial society," we have been dedicated to organizing management and technology seminars as well as publishing and selling technical materials. In recent years, the wave of technological innovation surrounding the industrial society has become more intense and faster. In such circumstances, we have focused our corporate activities on a "flexible" response to the information needs of the industrial society. At the corporate level, the number of companies participating in "REIT," which aims to meet 100% of their business power needs with renewable energy, is increasing rapidly. There is also a growing interest in the 17 goals of the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" related to global challenges concerning the economy, society, and the environment, and ESG investment is gaining attention. Given this situation, we are convinced that technologies centered around energy and the environment, such as those addressing global warming, will become key technologies for the future world. We will continue to focus on information related to "energy" and "environment," and we are committed to providing truly useful information for society and our descendants.
