basic information
**Lecture Overview** Hydrogen is gaining attention as a next-generation energy source and industrial gas in a low-carbon society. Among hydrogen derivatives, ammonia is expected to be utilized not only for traditional fertilizer and industrial applications but also as a fuel and hydrogen carrier, with an anticipated increase in consumption in the future. Clean hydrogen and ammonia, produced with reduced CO2 emissions, are particularly anticipated. This lecture will explain the methods for producing clean hydrogen and ammonia, as well as the efforts of the JGC Group in developing manufacturing technologies related to clean hydrogen and ammonia. It will specifically address the challenges in designing and operating hydrogen and ammonia production facilities when utilizing variable renewable energy, the technological development and demonstration to tackle these challenges, and the research and development of NEDO's large-scale externally heated ammonia decomposition hydrogen production technology aimed at building a hydrogen supply chain. **Lecture Items** ■ Basics of Clean Hydrogen and Ammonia ■ Methods for Producing Clean Hydrogen and Ammonia ■ JGC Group's Initiatives and Technologies ■ Related Q&A ■ Business Card and Information Exchange Session
