Flow cytometry is utilized as a tool to rapidly understand the individual states of cells across a wide range of fields. In recent years, there has been growing interest in yeast, such as the development of engineered yeast that synthesizes useful proteins for applications in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. In this context, flow cytometry is also used for high-growth yeast for purposes such as cloning.
