【Lecture Overview】 As the increase in electricity demand due to digitalization is anticipated even in developed countries, the global importance of nuclear power generation is being re-recognized, and there is growing expectation for next-generation innovative reactors that can overcome traditional challenges. In particular, attention is focused on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), which have a high feasibility from the perspective of technological maturity and possess characteristics that can overcome various challenges in large light water reactors. Various players in different countries are advancing the development and social implementation of SMRs.
