We will introduce the timeline of events leading up to the ban on asbestos!
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral, also known as "sekimen" and "ishi-wata." Its fibers are very fine, making it easy to disperse in the air, and inhalation poses a risk of health damage. In 1975, the spraying of asbestos exceeding 5% by weight was generally prohibited. This marked the first step in asbestos regulation. In 1995, the spraying of asbestos exceeding 1% by weight was generally prohibited, and at the same time, the manufacture, import, transfer, provision, and use of highly carcinogenic amosite (brown asbestos) and crocidolite (blue asbestos) were completely banned. *For detailed information, please refer to the related links.
